ERNIE GORDON

Ernie is the author of kids book called "The Adventures of Rusty Redcoat: Volume 1" which is narrated by a red squirrel. LORD REDESDALE

Is a member of the House of Lords and chairman of the Red Squirrel Protection Partnership. The RSPP's mission is to trap and kill gray squirrels in northern England. They keep a running tally of how many grays they have trapped on their website which you can visit here.

 

PAUL PARKER

Paul is the chief trapper for the RSPP. He worked as an independent pest controller until Lord Redesdale hired him to work full time on the culling of gray squirrels.

 

CARRI NICHOLSON

Carri is the president of Save Our Squirrels (SOS.) Save our squirrels is the largest organization dedicated to red squirrel conservation in England. You can read more about the organization on their website here.

 

VERONICA CARNELL

Veronica is a volunteer at SOS. The baby red squirrel that you see in her house in the film is an orphan, which she plans to release when it grows old enough to fend for itself.

 

MARC SANDERS

Marc is the head chef at the Famous Wild Boar Hotel near Lake Windermere in the Lake District. Marc's specialty is wild boar but he added gray squirrel to the menu as a response to the problems the grays were causing in the area. DOREEN HALLSWORTH

Doreen is a lay reader at a rural church outside of Carlisle. She is an advocate for the local farmers in their struggle to preserve their way of life. She sees parallels between the farmers' struggles and those of the red squirrels.

 

HARRISON MARTIN

Harrison is a farmer and neighbor of Doreen. He built an elevated squirrel highway out of sticks and twine to keep the red squirrels off the ground so cars wouldn't hit them.
